Dancing for All is an inclusive programme for children aged 5–15, creating an opportunity for children to explore movement, creativity and self-expression together with their friends and peers.
The programme has been designed with children in mind who may experience barriers to participating in traditional dance or physical activities. However, Dancing for All is for everyone. Children who experience barriers and those who don't can take part alongside each other, enjoying the same activity and experiencing the benefits of being active and creative together.
What can children expect?
These are not traditional dance lessons. Instead, the sessions offer a relaxed, playful and creative environment where children can explore movement in their own way.
Through the sessions, children will have opportunities to:
- Explore movement and creativity
- Develop confidence and self-expression
- Build physical awareness and coordination
- Try new things in a supportive environment
- Make connections and enjoy being active with others
- Celebrate their own individuality while participating alongside their peers
At the heart of Dancing for All is the belief that differences shouldn't mean doing things separately. The programme provides an opportunity for children with different strengths, abilities and needs to participate together, have fun and enjoy an activity where everyone belongs.
