This session will focus on:

  • Knowledge of the basics of hand skills development the components of hand skills and sequences of development
  • Identifying a children who are demonstrating delays in hand skills
  • Knowledge of activities which promote hand skills development, pre-writing games, a multisensory approach, development of self-help skills and how to promote these.
  • This will be a practical session.

Training led by: Lois M Addy MA (Ed) BSc (Hons) Psych. Dip COT SROT, SI-UK

Lois Addy is an independent SEND advisor and lecturer, teaching both nationally and internationally. She has qualifications in occupational therapy, psychology and education, and has over 39 years’ experience in working with children with SEN; especially those with developmental coordination disorder (dyspraxia).Lois is the author of a number of books including ‘How to Understand and Support Children with Dyspraxia’.
