Developing Handwriting in the Early Years

This twilight webinar will give guidelines on how to help children aged between 4-8 years.

This webinar will be delivered via ZOOM.

Handwriting involves the complicated co-ordination of motor, perceptual and cognitive skills which, do not always develop spontaneously, but require considerable explanation, demonstration, experimentation and practice. Many children struggle with this area of their education with a negative effect on their confidence and academic achievement.

This webinar will be practical and will demonstrate the importance of handwriting for literacy and give guidelines on how to help children aged between 4-8 years who are struggling to master this essential skill.

Training led by: Lois M Addy MA (Ed) BSc (Hons) Psych. Dip COT SROT, SI-UK

Lois Addy is an independent SEND advisor and lecturer, teaching both nationally and internationally.  She has qualifications in occupational therapy, psychology and education, and has over 39 years’ experience in working with children with SEN; especially those with developmental coordination disorder (dyspraxia). Lois is the author of a number of books including Write from the Start, Speed-Up, and ‘How to Identify & Overcome Handwriting Difficulties’.
