Swimming for All Programme Celebrates Success as Families Share Inspiring Feedback

Designed to provide inclusive swimming opportunities, the programme supports children to develop confidence, improve their swimming skills, and enjoy being active in a safe and encouraging environment.

Families taking part in the programme shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, with all parents rating their child’s enjoyment of the programme 10 out of 10.

Parents highlighted the many benefits their children experienced, including improved confidence, swimming technique, stamina, resilience, and overall wellbeing.

One parent shared:

“Emily has really enjoyed this swimming class. She has gained confidence, improved swimming technique and stamina.”

Another parent explained how the programme helped their child grow in confidence:

“His confidence improved every session and he had a great relationship with Ben and Kylah who made every session fun.”

The programme has also been particularly valuable for children with SEND needs, offering an opportunity to access swimming support in a way that meets their individual needs.

One parent commented:

“My child has absolutely loved every second of these swimming sessions! We have had no other organisation willing to give my child lessons due to his SEND needs, but the instructors have got him feeling really confident and happy. My child is far more confident in the water now.”

Families also shared how the sessions helped children step outside their comfort zones, building resilience and supporting positive wellbeing.

Another parent said:

“I would recommend these sessions to other SEND parents as it’s a fantastic opportunity to get them involved.”

Thanks to the success of the programme, Swimming for All will continue into the Autumn Term.

Due to the specialist nature of the programme, places are limited, with only four spaces available per six-week programme. Places are allocated based on programme criteria to ensure the sessions provide the right support for the children who will benefit most.

Families interested in accessing the programme are invited to contact us for an application form. Applications will be considered, and successful applicants will be added to the waiting list for future opportunities.

We would like to thank Richmond Dales Swimming Club, the dedicated instructors, families, and everyone involved in supporting this fantastic programme.

Through Activities for All, we are continuing to create opportunities that help children build confidence, develop new skills, and experience the benefits of inclusive sport.
